Putrajaya Dragon Boat Festival

Time to rock the boat guys!

There will be a newly organized dragon boat race happening from 5 to 7 June 2009! And it’s going to be held at Putrajaya – a modern and vibrant city located just South of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! Fo’shizzle my nizzle! Are we going to paddle in a pond, surrounded by heavily-conjested and polluted urban landscape?

Nooooooo! In fact, an impressive man-made 650-hectares lake is waiting for us to make waves. The lake is called Putrajaya lake (duh….) and its water quality is graded class 2B of the Interim National Quality Standards! Whatever that means, it is safe for body contact which is a safety requirement for all National and International water sports! Ack. Now now now… can someone check whether the water at Kallang Basin is graded at least class 2B?

We now leave you with a picture of Putrajaya lake taken at night…

Class 2B, don’t play play!

…and a picture of Kallang Basin.

Time to collect sample for testing!
