Eugene gets lucky!

I was chatting with Eugene online yesterday, and he mentioned to me a ‘memorable’ outing he had with his Marriott colleagues at China One. Apparently there were several good-looking ladies, but somehow only one keep sticking to him the whole nite (like super glue, you know?). Let the pictures speak for themselves…

To Eugene, this is just for fun (don’t whack me with your paddle the next time you see me huh). As a word of advice, too much cholesterol is not good for health loh, hehehe…

Eugene gets lucky!

Check out his stern look - I bet he must be smiling blissfully inside!

Eugene gets luckier - this time, with 2 ladies side-by-side!

Now that the smile is out, I wonder if he went home alone that nite?

Burn Water Burn!

It was a heart-thumping and blistering race from the start to finish line. The team comprising Kiyah-Splashhies Jay, Roland, Steven Tan and Guolong had led the pack in the 5-crew men’s open grand finals race up till the very last few metres.

Surging ahead at the starts

Alas! In the end, Mountbatten CSC Team “A” executed a well-timed charge to cross the finish line a mere 0.5 seconds ahead of Kiyah-Splashh! Team A. Everyone in our team was no doubt disappointed by the unexpected turn of events. But this is the nature of dragonboat races; you win some, and you lose some. No matter what, you pick yourself up and look beyond to the next race ;)

Here’re the detailed results of the 500-metre race, which was held on 5th Oct 2008 at the Marina Reservoir (Note: A change in the 5-crew race format this year saw the race distance being increased from 250m to 500m).

Saying “I do”

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Chijmes.

On the 20th day of July, 2008, a group of Kiyah-Splashhies joined with over a hundred other well-wishers at Chijmes to witness, and to celebrate, Terence and Wendy’s wedding solemnization. The couple had known each other since their student days. And now, they will be embarking on a new journey together as husband and wife. Here’s wishing Terence and Wendy happiness and excitement in their married life ahead! :)

More of us got one star liao!

It all started with a few Kiyah-Splahhies going on an excursion to the National Stadium Theaterette in May 2007 to watch This is the Sea, a documentary on sea-kayaking directed by award-winning filmmaker Justine Curgenven. The ringleader of the bunch was none other than Roland, who is an avid and experienced sea-kayaker himself.

The Alledged Ringleader Exposed

Fourteen months and two days later, we have a bunch of sea-kayaker-wannabe-kiyah-splashhies (now that’s a mouthful) taking their first baby step towards big surf (ahem!) sea-kayaking glory. And in the process, they made many new friends too ;-)

And now they are one

If you haven’t already heard the news by now, a major event happened on 7 June 2008.  :-)

No, we’re not talking about the start of Euro 2008, but something wonderfully joyous and far closer to our minds and hearts. On that day, fellow Kiyah-Splashhies Raymond and Joycelyn officially tied the knot to start a new chapter in their lifes together. We wish them a blissful married life ahead! 1-2-3 Raymond – Joycelyn whoosh!
