Caron It was a heart-thumping and blistering race from the start to finish line. The team comprising Kiyah-Splashhies Jay, Roland, Steven Tan and Guolong had led the pack in the 5-crew men’s open grand finals race up till the very last few metres.

Alas! In the end, Mountbatten CSC Team “A” executed a well-timed charge to cross the finish line a mere 0.5 seconds ahead of Kiyah-Splashh! Team A. Everyone in our team was no doubt disappointed by the unexpected turn of events. But this is the nature of dragonboat races; you win some, and you lose some. No matter what, you pick yourself up and look beyond to the next race ;)
Here’re the detailed results of the 500-metre race, which was held on 5th Oct 2008 at the Marina Reservoir (Note: A change in the 5-crew race format this year saw the race distance being increased from 250m to 500m).
