No folks…you’re not seeing a double here (For the clueless among us, go take a look at the picture in the previous post and you’ll know what I mean). Â
Having featured Raymond in the inaugural Hard-10 interview earlier this week, we move the spotlight now to Joycelyn, his soul-mate…and may I add, one of KS’ babes
Â
Joycelyn has been a Kiyah-Splashhie for almost two years now; and she has been a great friend and teammate to many of us all this while. Her words of encouragement and warm smile during training and races never fail to brighten up our day. Interested to find out more about Joycelyn? Hmm…there were quite a few new things we learnt about her through this interview. Read on to find out. Ready…Go!
Hi Joyce, what are you busy with these days?
Assignments are aplenty, exams are approaching, work is apiling, wedding bells aringing!
What got you interested in dragonboating and when did you pick it up?
Mac’s my neighbour and I found out about dragonboating through her. Picked it up in August 2005.
If you were in another club or a school team before, which team was it and what was your role then?
Back then: Member of
- Chinese Calligraphy Club – Chong De Primary School (same school as Guolong!)
- Ballet – Sylvia McCully School of Dancing. This is REALLY embarrassing for me, but yes, I took up ballet before.
- Organ/Cello – Yamaha
- Chinese Orchestra – Teck Ghee CC
- Swimming (long distance)Â – Teck Ghee Constituency Team
- Cross country + Track and Field (middle to long distance) – Cedar Girls’ and Singapore Schools Team
- Rock-climbing – SRJC
Now: Semi-retiree! WHEE!
Could you share a memorable dragonboating experience you had with us?
I didn’t know a dragonboat could cruise “out of lane”, and that was back in SAVAs 2005, when we steered into the wrong lane for Plate finals, ladies’ open. wahahahahahahaha..And we insisted that we were in the CORRECT lane.
