There is something stirring in the dragonboat fraternity in the UK. Kate Middleton, Prince William’s on-off girl friend was invited to join ‘The Sisterhood‘, a team which describes themselves as “an elite group of female athletes talented in many ways, toned to perfection, with killer looks and on a mission to keep boldly going where no girl has gone before”.
Apparently, ‘The Sisterhood’ is training to be the first all female group to row across the English Channel on the 24th August and are training their butt off for the charity row. Guess we could give them some tips on preventing butt scars and finger callous in return for a seat in the boat. According to the papers, Kate will take on the role of the tiller (the English version of ‘coxswain’), having proven that she is an excellent steerer. Gosh, that’s one role I will never want to take on, especially when you are crossing the English Channel.
By the way, am heading back to sunny Singapore next week – hope to see you all soon. Let me know if there is any training on the 5th August. ;-) See ya!

Hi Haikang…Ed Teo, Guolong, Haoyuan and gang are planning to start trg on 12/8. Hope you’re able to make it then :)
Maybe we should form a Brotherhood here in Singapore? Kekekeke….we’re certainly not elite athletes. but our resume, which Peichuan penned, is no less interesting: “KIYAH-SPLASHH is a dragonboat team that thrives on competing with the best in Singapore. Our philosophy is to achieve dominance in the local dragonboat scene whilst pretending to train very hard. No one else has seen through our pretense yet so we are hell bent on keeping up appearances…” HAHAHAHAHA
We are defintely into the looks!
I think for this season I might want our Tiller/Coxwain to look more Blond and in a spaghetti top. Across the Singapore Channel we go!
doesn’t that make our coxswains faggots?!
